Donate to YISF
This festival runs on a non-profit model, made possible by the hard work of dedicated volunteers and contributions from international organisations, private donors, and local partners. Every donation helps to ensure this work can continue.
In 2025, your donations will go towards...
-the creation of an original performance by actors from Ukraine and artists from York
-storytelling workshops in schools and libraries across Yorkshire
-university students receiving hands-on work experience in event management and international literature
And so much more!

York International Shakespeare Festival is a charity - we deliver high-quality international Shakespeare and arts programming across Yorkshire based on support from our partners and the generosity of funder and donations. We have a long list of programmes, projects, and shows we'd like to bring to York - in the interest of transparency, here's a brief estimate of the costs of those things:
Two tickets for Refugees in York to any Main Programme Show - £30
Printing & Translating Flyers - £100
A half day workshop for students and/or community participants with an international artist - £200
Travel for a one-person show - flight and UK ground travel - £250
A week of storytelling in schools - £600 (and we try for 2 weeks)
A staged reading of a European play - £1000
A whole small production (like our beloved ShakeSphere project with ESFN) - £2500
Travel & Accommodation for Ukrainian Artists to deliver workshops & perform in York - £5000
Your support is greatly appreciated!
